Oakwood boys’ basketball falls to St. Thomas More

Oakwood’s furious fourth-quarter rally fell just short on Tuesday (Dec. 5) as the Comets dropped their boys’ basketball home-opener to St. Thomas More, 49-47.
STM led, 39-22, entering the final eight minutes.
Cort Vermillion led the Comets with a season-high 17 points. He nailed three three-point shots.
The team’s other point-makers were Brody Taflinger (eight points), Carsen Dudley (six points), Jackson Dudley (six points), Bryson McDaniel (six points), Alex Harrison (two points) and Brandt Hobick (two points).
Both Dudleys made two three-point shots and Taflinger bagged one.
Oakwood (8-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 12) at home against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
