Oakwood basketball defeats Armstrong-Potomac

Freshman Carson Dudley set career varsity highs for points (25) three-pointers (five) and free throws (four) on Friday (Dec. 15) as Oakwood blitzed Armstrong-Potomac at home, 79-40.
Dudley netted 13 of his points in the opening period as the Comets rolled into a 26-8 lead.
Oakwood connected on 15 three-pointers in the game. Jackson Dudley nailed four to account for all 12 of his points. Brody Taflinger and Cort Vermillion both drained two three-pointers. Taflinger wound up with 10 points and Vermillion finished with eight.
Alec Harrison made nine points and recorded one three-pointer. All of Hayden Thompson’s points were on one three-pointer.
Also entering the scorebook for Oakwood were Bryson McDaniel (eight points), Brandt Hobick (two points) and Alex Wallace (two points).
Oakwood’s halftime lead was 45-22.
The Comets are 9-3 overall and 1-1 in Vermilion Valley Conference contests. The team returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 26) in the Monticello Hoopla Tournament.
