Spartans crush Normal University at home

Tanner Jacob tossed in 20 points on Friday (Dec. 15) and two teammates also reached double-figures as the state-ranked St. Joseph-Ogden boys’ basketball team crushed visiting Normal University High, 77-47.
Logan Smith scored 15 points to go along with a team-high seven assists and Luke Landrus collected 13 points. Adding nine points apiece were Tanner Siems and Coy Taylor, who was 4-for-4 from the field. Siems hauled down a team-best five rebounds.
Logan Lackey converted two three-pointers and totaled six points. Asher Pruemer’s points came on a three-pointer. Tim Blackburn-Kelley contributed two points.
Jacob and Kodey McKinney each handed out three assists.
SJ-O (8-0) returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 19) at home against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
The Spartans are ranked 10th in the first Class 2A state poll.
