Oakwood girls’ basketball picks up win at home over Chrisman

Jaydah Arrowsmith scored 16 points on Thursday (Jan. 4) as Oakwood snapped a four-game losing streak with a 36-25 victory at home over Chrisman.
Bella Bradford scored eight points and Nikita Taylor totaled seven points. Also reaching the scoring column for the Comets were Gracie Hanner (two point), Luci Morris (two points) and Rylee Wright (one point).
The Comets expanded a 17-14 halftime lead into a 32-18 margin after three quarters.
On Wednesday (Jan. 3), the Comets hit a season-high for points scored, but suffered a 64-57 loss at home to Centennial.
Arrowsmith netted a team-high 17 points. Bradford and Taylor each added 12 points. Hanner tossed in seven points, Morris had five points and Wright finished with four points.
Oakwood led, 28-27, at halftime, but faced a 50-40 deficit entering the fourth quarter.
The Comets were 15-for-35 from the free throw line.
Oakwood (6-14) returns to action at home on Monday (Jan. 8) against Milford.
