For the first time, both of the Dudley brothers reached the 20-point mark in the same game on Friday (Jan. 5) as Oakwood throttled visiting Chrisman, 74-23, in a Vermilion Valley Conference boys’ basketball game.
Jackson Dudley poured in a season-high 22 points and Carsen Dudley tallied 20 points. Both connected on five shots from the three-point line.
The Comets surged into a 26-4 lead after one quarter and expanded it to 52-13 at halftime.
Alec Harrison notched seven points. Also adding to the team’s point total were Brody Taflinger (six points), Cort Vermillion (five points), Bryson McDaniel (four points), Alex Wallace (four points), Ben Darling (two points), Brandt Hobick (two points) and Hayden Thompson (two points).
Taflinger and Wallace were each 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Taflinger had made 15 straight free throws since his last miss on Dec. 12.
Oakwood (12-5) returns to action on Tuesday (Jan. 9) at home against Milford.
