Joao Vega registered a season-high 19 points and Kylan Walker matched his season’s best with 10 points on Monday (Jan. 8) as the Heritage junior high boys’ basketball team topped Next Generation, 36-20, in Champaign.
The seventh-graders (3-12) took a 44-13 setback against Tri-County on Thursday (Jan. 4). Vega led the way with seven points.
The Heritage eighth-graders opened the 2024 portion of its season with losses to Tri-County in Oakland on Thursday (Jan. 4) and on Monday (Jan. 8) at Champaign Next Generation, 46-31.
The eighth-graders (8-7) dropped a 38-30 decision to Tri-County. Landin McComas hit a team-high 10 points and Christian Paul added nine points.
Heritage is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday (Jan. 10) at home against Urbana Uni High.
