Hopper scores 16 against Blue Ridge

Freshman Addi Hopper scored a season-high 16 points on Thursday (Jan. 11) for the Heritage girls’ basketball team, which fell just short at home against Blue Ridge, 36-32.
In the Hawks’ first 20 games of the year, Hopper had attempted just three free throws. Against Blue Ridge, she was 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Brooklyn Powell contributed eight points for Heritage. Bailey Lubben connected on a three-point shot. Gracie Tate scored two points as did Loran Tate. Bri Ploense added the team’s other point on a free throw.
On Saturday (Jan. 13), the Hawks lost a 42-23 decision at Cerro Gordo/Bement in a first-round game of the Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament.
Hopper connected for a team-best six points, her fourth game in a row for leading the team in scoring.
Ploense hit five points, Powell chipped in with four points and both Gracie Tate and Loran Tate ended with three points. Lubben had the team’s other two points.
Heritage (2-20) returns to action on Monday (Jan. 15) at 8 p.m. at Decatur Lutheran in the Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament
