SJ-O girls’ basketball on five-game win streak

Addy Martinie drilled six first-half three-pointers on Monday (Jan. 15) as the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team won its fifth consecutive game, 44-19, in Champaign against St. Thomas More.
For the game, Martinie nailed seven three-point shots and finished with a game-high total of 25 points. She completed her double-double by pulling down 10 rebounds.
Addison Frick seconded her with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Timera Blackburn-Kelley connected for three points. Contributing two points apiece were Katie Ericksen, Ashlyn Miller and Kayla Osterbur.
SJ-O created an 11-4 lead after the first eight minutes of action and carried a 24-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Spartans (11-8 overall and 4-0 in the Illini Prairie Conference) return to action on Thursday (Jan. 18) at home against Monticello.
