Comets reach 20-win mark with win over Westville

Brody Taflinger connected for a season-high 19 points on Tuesday (Jan. 30) at Westville, helping Oakwood’s boys’ basketball team reach the 20-win mark with a 57-45 triumph over the Tigers.

Taflinger drained three three-point shots.

Trailing him in scoring for the Comets were Jackson Dudley (17 points), Alec Harrison (11 points), Cort Vermillion (six points) and Carsen Dudley (four points).

Jackson Dudley drilled four three-point shots. Hitting once apiece from beyond the arc were Carsen Dudley and Vermillion.

Oakwood led, 15-6, after one quarter and 37-18 at halftime.

The Comets (20-6) return to action on Friday (Feb. 2) at home against Iroquois West.
