Heritage girls’ basketball loses two late-week games

Brooklyn Powell scored a game-high 10 points on Thursday (Feb. 1) for the Heritage girls’ basketball team, which lost its home-finale to Argenta-Oreana, 31-21.
Loran Tate contributed six points, Addi Hopper made three points and Bri Ploense finished with two points.
On Saturday (Feb. 3), the Hawks dropped a 62-25 decision at Hoopeston Area.
Powell hit a team-best eight points. Hopper and Loran Tate both contributed four points. Briyah Hardaway made the Hawks’ lone three-pointer and ended with three points. Scoring two points each were Gwen Happ, Bri Ploense and Gracie Tate.
Gracie Tate converted 2-of-2 free throw attempts, the only ones Heritage shot in the game.
The Cornjerkers led, 13-4, after one quarter and 36-10 at halftime.
Heritage (2-26) returns to action on Monday (Feb. 5) at Tri-County in the team’s regular-season finale.
