Spartans defeats Tolono in overtime

Logan Smith scored a career-high 29 points on Friday (Feb. 9) as the St. Joseph-Ogden boys’ basketball team clinched at least a share of the Illini Prairie Conference title with a 73-72 overtime win at Tolono Unity.
Smith also handed out five assists.
After falling behind early, 13-6, SJ-O ended the first half on a 30-13 run to take a 10-point lead into the locker room at halftime.
Luke Landrus tossed in 13 points for the Spartans, Coy Taylor scored 12 points and Tanner Siems had matching totals of eight points and eight rebounds.
Tanner Jacob notched seven points and Collin Thomey chipped in with four points. Landrus finished with six rebounds and four assists.
SJ-O (23-6) will return to action on Tuesday (Feb. 13) at Paxton-Buckley-Loda in its regular-season finale.
