Oakwood Softball Stumbles in Season Start, Suffers Consecutive Home Losses to Marshall and LeRoy

Oakwood’s softball team was limited to one run per game while opening the season with losses on back-to-back days at home.
On Monday (March 11), the Comets suffered a 13-1 loss to Marshall. On Tuesday (March 12), Oakwood dropped an 11-1 decision to LeRoy.
Madi McFarland scored the run against Marshall. Gracie Enos tallied the run against LeRoy.
Enos also stole bases in both games.
The Oakwood hits against Marshall were by Samantha Dunavan and Gracie Hanner. Swatting hits against LeRoy were Enos, Maitlyn Griffis and Karleigh Nelson.
The hits by Dunavan and Griffis were doubles.
In the two games, Enos pitched eight innings and registered three strikeouts. Reliever Caydence Vermillion worked four innings and fanned four hitters.
Oakwood (0-2) returns to action on Monday (March 18) at Salt Fork.
