Villa Grove Rallies in the Seventh for a 7-6 Victory Over Oakwood Despite Being Out-Hit

Villa Grove tallied two runs in the top of the seventh inning on Tuesday (March 12) and rallied to win a non-conference baseball game at Oakwood, 7-6.
The Comets out-hit the visitors, 11-4.
Oakwood’s offensive attack was spearheaded by Chase Harrison with three hits. Teammates Derek Drews and Cort Vermillion each knocked two hits.
Finishing with one hit apiece for the Comets were Jackson Dudley, Bryson Marcinko, Brody Taflinger and Alex Wallace.
Vermillion delivered two RBI. Knocking in one run apiece were Carsen Dudley, Taflinger and Wallace.
Loudyn Hughes and Taflinger both tallied two runs. Drews and Harrison crossed home plate one time each.
Chase Harrison pitched the first five innings. He yielded three hits while recording eight strikeouts. Alec Harrison worked the final two innings. He was touched for one hit and struck out six batters.
Oakwood (0-1) is scheduled to return to action on Thursday (March 14) at home against Casey-Westfield.
