Carter and Franzen Earn State Medals for St. Joseph-Ogden at Indoor Track Meet

St. Joseph-Ogden athletes Payton Carter and Savanna Franzen won state medals on Saturday (March 23) in the Illinois Prep Top Times unofficial indoor Class 2A girls’ track and field state meet at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center.

Carter was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, 3 inches.

Franzen ran seventh in the 800 meters, clocking a final time of 2:24.59.

They were the Spartans’ only participants.

SJ-O returns to action on Saturday (March 30) in the Champaign County Invitational at Urbana.
