Oakwood Softball Endures Tough Week with Losses to Tolono Unity, Tri-County, and Blue Ridge

Gracie Hanner, Karleigh Nelson and Caydence Vermillion had hits for Oakwood on Monday (March 25) in a 14-0 loss at Tolono Unity.
Gracie Enos and Vermillion shared the pitching duties. Each faced 14 batters. Vermillion recorded two strikeouts in her two-inning relief stint.
On Tuesday (March 26), the Comets dropped a 9-8 decision to Tri-County when the visitors scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to rally for the victory.
Enos swatted three hits. Bella Bradford and Samantha Dunavan both contributed two hits. Dunavan drove in two runs.
Bradford scored twice.
Vermillion pitched five innings and struck out nine batters while issuing one walk. Enos fanned two hitters in two innings and took the loss.
On Wednesday (March 27), Oakwood suffered a 7-4 loss at Blue Ridge.
Dunavan was 4-for-4. Hanner laced three hits and Nelson poked two hits. Vermillion knocked in two runs.
Enos worked all six innings and recorded four strikeouts.
Oakwood (1-5) returns to action on Thursday (March 28) at home against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
