Oakwood Clutches Extra-Inning Softball Win Against Armstrong-Potomac with Late Rally

Gracie Hanner slammed a solo home run in the fourth inning on Thursday (March 28) to create a 1-1 tie, but Oakwood needed to score twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to salvage a 3-2 softball victory over visiting Armstrong-Potomac.
The Comets’ other hits were by Samantha Dunavan, Madi McFarland and Karleigh Nelson.
Sophia Hart and Nelson tallied the team’s other two runs. Hart also had an RBI.
Caydence Vermillion pitched a complete game. She permitted five hits and two walks. Vermillion (2-0) struck out four batters.
Oakwood (2-5) returns to action on Monday (April 1) at home against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
