Hanner and Finley’s Hits Not Enough as Oakwood Softball Falls to Watseka 6-1

Gracie Hanner stroked three hits and Jada Finley added two hits on Monday (April 8), but the Oakwood softball team suffered a 6-1 loss at Watseka.
Bella Bradford and Karleigh Nelson each contributed one hit to the Oakwood attack. Finley scored the run and Nelson had the RBI.
Caydence Vermillion struck out six in four innings, but took the loss.
On Tuesday (April 9), Samantha Dunavan and Nelson each hammered two hits, but the Comets were beaten at Danville, 12-2.
Dunavan and Nelson scored the runs. Hanner had an RBI.
Other squad members who ended with one hit were Bradford, Gracie Enos, Hanner and Sophia Hart.
Enos pitched 5 2/3 innings and suffered the loss.
Oakwood (3-8) returns to action on Saturday (April 13) in the Tuscola Tournament.
