Aidan Ashbrook Shines with Top Finish in 800m at Cumberland Pirate Invitational for Heritage

Aidan Ashbrook was the top finisher for the Heritage boys’ track and field team on Tuesday (April 16) in the 13-team Cumberland Pirate Invitational.
Ashbrook was third in the 800 meters with a personal-best 2:14.60.
Clark Roland had two top-10 individual performances. He was eighth in the long jump (17 feet, 6 inches) and 10th in the 400 meters (1:00.42).
The Hawks’ other top-10 placer was Hunter Montgomery, who was eighth in the 3,200 meters (13:12.96).
Heritage’s fourth-place 3,200-meter relay featured Ashbrook, Cohen Sands, Eli Denmark-Collins and Roland. The foursome was timed in 9:07.17.
Fourteen of 17 events were completed before weather forced an early end to the day. Altamont (81 points) was the meet champion with Newton (65 points) finishing second. Heritage was 11th with 10 points.
The Hawks will return to action on Thursday (April 18) at Westville.
