Heritage’s Strong Pitching Effort Not Enough in Losses to Decatur Unity Christian and Others

Heritage pitchers combined to register 13 strikeouts on Monday (April 15), but the Hawks dropped an 8-2 decision at home to Decatur Unity Christian in a non-conference baseball game.
Anthony Happ fanned seven hitters, Haiden Davis recorded four strikeouts and starter Robert Holloman – who took the loss – struck out two batters.
Happ drilled two of the Hawks’ three hits. Zaien Smith had a hit and scored a run. Kaden White tallied the team’s first run. Rylan White had one RBI.
On Tuesday (April 16), Rylan White collected two hits and Holloman recorded two RBI, but the Hawks lost a 13-5 decision at Schlarman Academy, in Danville.
Lukas Miller and Smith also contributed hits for Heritage. Miller knocked in a run. Rylan White tallied two runs. Crossing home plate once apiece were Happ, Holloman and Smith.
Brennan Struck fanned five hitters in four innings. Davis and Miller each pitched an inning and Miller struck out three of the four batters that he faced.
On Wednesday (April 17), the Hawks lost at home to Argenta-Oreana, 13-3.
Struck led the way with two hits. Holloman and Miller both dropped in one hit.
Happ, Smith and Struck all scored runs. Holleman and Struck had one RBI apiece.
Happ pitched 6 2/3 innings. He walked no one and struck out six batters. Rylan White worked the final 1/3 inning and registered one strikeout.
Heritage (0-13) returns to action on Thursday (April 18) at home against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
