Martinie Homers in Third Straight Game, Leads SJ-O Softball to Dominant 14-2 Victory at Maroa-Forsyth

Addy Martinie slugged a home run on Monday (April 22) for the third consecutive game, powering the St. Joseph-Ogden softball team to a 14-2 win at Maroa-Forsyth.
Martinie was 3-for-4, and also clubbed a double. She drove in a game-high four runs.
Timera Backburn-Kelly was the beneficiary of the offensive outburst. She pitched a five-inning two-hitter, striking out 10 batters and walking one. She improved her record to 8-1.
Other offensive stalwarts for SJ-O – with two hits apiece – were Grace Osterbur, Emma McKinney, Hayden Dahl and Chayse Palmer.
Dahl clubbed a home run and has hit an extra-base hit in her last four games. Osterbur ripped a triple. Palmer also hit a double.
Dahl delivered three RBI. Osterbur and Palmer both had two RBI.
Dahl scored three runs. Touching home plate twice each were Addison Frick, Osterbur and Ellie Ward. Scoring once were Martinie and Chloe Harper.
SJ-O (18-6) returns to action on Thursday (April 25) at home against Mahomet-Seymour.
