Chase Harrison Dominates on the Mound and at the Plate in Oakwood’s 5-1 Win Over Georgetown-Ridge Farm

Chase Harrison and Alex Wallace teamed up on a four-hitter on Monday (May 6) as the Oakwood baseball team recorded a 5-1 victory at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.

Harrison yielded four hits and no walks in six innings and matched his season’s high with 11 strikeouts.

Wallace retired all three batters he faced, two via strikeouts.

Harrison also led the offense with two hits and two runs scored.

Carsen Dudley delivered two RBI. Knocking in one run apiece were Brody Taflinger, Bryson Marcinko and Wallace.

Derek Drews, Jackson Dudley, Marcinko, Carsen Dudley, Alec Harrison and Wallace cracked one hit.

Crossing home plate one time each were Marcinko, Alec Harrison and Wallace.

On Friday (May 3), Westville handed Oakwood a 10-0 loss in a Vermilion Valley Conference baseball game in Fithian.

Marcinko belted two hits for the Comets. Teammates with one hit apiece were Drews, Taflinger, Cort Vermillion, Chase Harrison and Alex Wallace.

Alec Harrison pitched the first five innings for Oakwood. He allowed four hits and six walks. Harrison registered six strikeouts.

Oakwood (14-14) returns to action on Tuesday (May 7) at home against Covington, Ind.
