Loran Tate Leads Heritage with Top Finishes in Multiple Events at Lincoln Prairie Conference Track Meet

Junior Loran Tate recorded a first-place, a second-place, and a third-place finish individually for Heritage on Friday (May 3) in the 12-team Lincoln Prairie Conference girls’ track and field meet at Argenta-0reana.
Tate was also part of a fourth-place relay.
She was triumphant in the triple jump (34 feet, 5 inches) and placed second in the 100 meters (personal-best 13.27 seconds). She was third in the 200 meters (28.34 seconds).
Tate teamed up with Alex Tatman, Bri Ploense and Madi Wilson for a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter relay (53.32 seconds).
Ploense ended ninth in the 100 meters (13.79 seconds).
The Hawks’ other top-placing relay was the eighth-place 800-meter unit of Tatman, Ploense, Wilson and Bailee Lubben. Their final time was 2:02.45.
Team honors were captured by Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond with 123 points. Runner-up Sullivan had 77 points. Heritage tied for seventh with 28 points.
Heritage will return to action on Thursday (May 9) in the 17-school St. Anne Class 1A Sectional.
