St. Joseph Community Festival: A Weekend of Fun and Festivities

Get ready for an exciting weekend filled with fun, food, and entertainment at the annual St. Joseph Community Festival! From August 8th to August 10th, the Sports Complex off East Grand will be the hub of activities that bring the community together. This year’s festival promises something for everyone, from thrilling carnival rides to delicious food and engaging competitions. Here’s a detailed look at what to expect:

Thursday, August 8th

  • Pickleball Tournament at Kolb Park
    • Grab your paddles and join the fun at the pickleball tournament! Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, this event is a great way to kick off the festival.
  • American Legion Fish Fry
    • Enjoy the delicious taste of a classic fish fry, prepared by the American Legion. This is a must-try for festival-goers.
  • Carnival Rides, Games, Vendors, Food
    • The carnival opens with a variety of rides and games that are sure to delight both kids and adults. Stroll through the vendor booths and enjoy a wide selection of food.
  • Legion 50/50 Drawing
    • Try your luck with the 50/50 drawing, with proceeds supporting the local Legion.

Friday, August 9th

  • 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
    • Carnival rides, games, vendors, and food continue to entertain. The beer tent will be open, featuring live music by SS Logan Allen from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
  • American Legion Fish Fry
    • The fish fry continues, offering another opportunity to indulge in this festival favorite.
  • Bags Tournament
    • Register from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm in the beer tent. The tournament features two divisions: Competitive and Back Yard, hosted by B&D’s Cornhole Boards & Bags.
  • Chamber of Commerce – Citizen of the Year Award
    • Join us at the North basketball court to celebrate and honor this year’s Citizen of the Year.
  • Little Prince and Princess Coronation
    • Witness the crowning of the festival’s Little Prince and Princess at the North basketball court.
  • SJO FFA Kiddie Tractor Pull
    • Watch as the kids show off their strength and skills in this fun event at the North basketball court.
  • Legion 50/50 Drawing
    • Another chance to participate in the 50/50 drawing.

Saturday, August 10th

  • 6:30 am – 11:00 am
    • Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Dept. Pancake Breakfast.
  • Pickleball Tournament at Kolb Park
    • The pickleball action continues for another day.
  • Antique Model A Car Show
    • Car enthusiasts can admire beautifully restored antique cars along Lincoln St., Main St., and Third St.
  • Mutt Show
    • Presented by the St. Joseph Women’s Club, this show at the NW corner of the 4-way is perfect for dog lovers.
  • CIGTP Garden Tractor Pull
    • Watch powerful garden tractors compete, with weigh-in from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the far north end of the sports park.
  • Community Festival Parade
    • Line up begins at 2:00 pm at SJ Middle School. Don’t miss the vibrant parade that showcases the community’s spirit.
  • American Legion Fish Fry
    • The fish fry continues until sold out.
  • Gallo Dance Company Performance
    • Enjoy a lively performance by the Gallo Dance Company at the North end of the basketball court.
  • Beer Tent
    • Live music by HIGHWAY 615 from 8:00 pm to midnight. The beer tent also hosts a Bingo fundraiser by the Women’s Club.
  • Carnival Rides, Games, Vendors, Food
    • The carnival fun continues, offering a great way to spend the evening.
  • Legion 50/50 Drawing
    • The final 50/50 drawing of the festival.
  • Aerial Fireworks Display
    • Cap off the festival with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk, lighting up the night sky.
