Live Raptor Program Coming to Kennekuk County Park
Wildlife enthusiasts and families alike are in for a treat this September as the Illinois Raptor Center brings its captivating Live Raptor Program to Kennekuk County Park. Scheduled for Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., this event offers a unique opportunity to see hawks, eagles, and other majestic birds of prey up close.
The program, held at the White Oak Barn within the park, will feature resident raptors from the Illinois Raptor Center. Attendees will not only have the chance to observe these incredible birds face-to-face but also learn about their behaviors, habitats, and the crucial role they play in the local ecosystem.
This kid-friendly event is perfect for the whole family and is sponsored by the Middlefork Audubon Society, a chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society. It’s a fantastic educational experience that highlights the importance of raptors in our area and the ongoing efforts to protect and preserve these magnificent creatures.
