St. Joseph-Ogden Boys’ Cross-Country Secures Second Place at Paris Doc Acklin Invitational with Top-Six Finishes from Fisher and Retz

Two runners from St. Joseph-Ogden turned in top-six performances on Saturday (Aug. 3) in the 130-runner Paris Doc Acklin Memorial Boys’ Cross-Country Invitational.

SJ-O took second in the 16-team meet. Charleston’s winning score was 67 points. SJ-O finished with 87 points.

Leading the way for the Spartans were senior Jack Fisher (fourth in 17:18.25) and junior Lance Retz (sixth in 17:30.43).

Other SJ-O finishers were Colin Burnett (24th in 18:41.93), Eli Franklin (27th in 18:44.10), Nate Farney (29th in 18:53.11), Cyrus Zadeh (32nd in 19:07.66), E.J. Beckett (35th in 19:13.33), Hunter Dilley (72nd in 20:58.71) and Mark Harbourt (81st in 21:35.46).

Franklin and Dilley are freshmen who were running their first high school race.

SJ-O returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 7) in the Chrisman Cowchip Classic.
