St. Joseph-Ogden Soccer Rolls to Third 9-0 Victory in Five Days, Mills Nets Another Hat Trick

For the third time in five days, the St. Joseph-Ogden soccer team captured a 9-0 win.

The latest victory in the streak came on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at home on Dick Duval Field, and was a 9-0 trouncing of Stanford Olympia.

For the second time in three days, Logan Mills recorded a hat trick. He also had one assist.

Zach Harper netted two goals to go with one assist.

Tallying one goal apiece were Alex Acosta, Yadi Acosta, Quinn Stahl and Davin Alvarez.

Alvarez contributed an assist as did Spartan teammates Tyler Hess and Waylon Jones.

The shutout was SJ-O’s eighth of the season.

On Monday (Sept. 16), the team blanked Blue Ridge, also at home.

Mills led the offensive assault with his second hat trick of the season. Alex Acosta and Yadi Acosta both netted two goals.

Alvarez and Harper contributed one goal apiece.

Alex Acosta collected two assists. Finishing with one assist each were Yadi Acosta, Harper, Hess and Jones.

For the year, Harper and Mills have three hat tricks.

Harper has a team-best 22 goals, followed by Mills (15), Alex Acosta (14) and Alvarez (nine).

Hess is the leader in assists (10), followed by Yadi Acosta (eight), Harper (eight), Alex Acosta (six) and Jones (five).

SJ-O (10-2-1) returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 21) at home against Chillicothe IVC. In their last 10 matches, the Spartans are 9-0-1 and have outscored those opponents by a combined 66-5 score.
