Savanna Franzen Leads St. Joseph-Ogden Girls to Eighth-Place Finish at Spartan Classic with Top-10 Performance

Savanna Franzen finished eighth in the 148-runner Spartan Classic girls’ cross-country race. Her 3-mile time was 17:54.00.

Other Spartan finishers were Grace Bressner (19^th in 18:58.87), Tessa Walker (42^nd in 20:20.92), Abigail Bello (85^th in 22:34.81), Sydney Steinbach (89^th in 22:39.34) and Kiah Riesel (121^st in 24:44.46).

The Spartans placed eighth in a meet with 20 full teams. Meet champion Tolono Unity had 55 points and was followed by Shelbyville (91 points). SJ-O had 210 points.

SJ-O returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 5) at Terre Haute, Ind.
