Harper and Acosta Shine as SJ-O Soccer Dominates with Back-to-Back Shutout Wins

Zach Harper scored three goals while Alex Acosta and Logan Mills recorded three assists on Monday (Sept. 30) to spark the St. Joseph-Ogden soccer team to a 7-0 win at Champaign’s Judah Christian.
Mills also netted a goal as did Davin Alvarez, Yadi Acosta and Branson Pearman. Tyler Hess also added an assist.
On Tuesday (Oct. 1), SJ-O defeated Bloomington Central Catholic, 9-0, at home on Dick Duval Field.
Alex Acosta notched four goals and had one assist. Mills finished with one goal and four assists.
Other scorers for SJ-O, with two goals apiece, were Yadi Acosta and Harper.
Jaxson Colvin collected one save.
SJ-O (15-2-1) returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 3) at Rantoul. The Spartans have 11 shutouts for the season, including three in a row. The team has allowed three goals in its last eight matches.
