Ray Leads SJ-O to Runner-Up Finish at IHSA Class 1A Regional; Junior Claims Medalist Honors

St. Joseph-Ogden’s all-underclassmen boys’ golf team placed second on Wednesday (Oct. 2) in the13-school IHSA Class 1A regional tournament at Danville Country Club.
Junior Graham Ray was the tournament’s medalist, carding a season-best 81 to win by one stroke.
Asher Pruemer placed in a tie for fifth (86) while teammates Wade Clark and Garrett Loschen (93s) ended in a tie for 18th place.
Clark’s score was his best 18-hole round of the season.
The other SJ-O participants were Devan Swisher (94) and Trevor Ames (107). Swisher tied for 25th.
Casey-Westfield won team honors with a composite score of 348. SJ-O was the runner-up (353), with its second-best round of the year. Salt Fork (365) placed third.
Pruemer fired a 90 on Monday (Sept. 30) for SJ-O, which placed fourth in the Sam Wells Invitational at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
Teammates totaling 94s were Ames, Loschen and Ray,
The Spartans’ other scores were a 100 by Swisher and a 101 by Clark.
Prairie Central (332) won team honors, followed by Pontiac (360), St. Thomas More (364) and SJ-O (372).
SJ-O returns to action on Monday (Oct. 7) in a 12-school Class 1A sectional tournament at Turtle Run, in Danville.
