7th Annual Illinois Heartland Library Crawl Runs October 2025

The 7th Annual Library Crawl, hosted throughout October 2025 by Illinois Heartland Library System member libraries, invites residents on a month-long journey to explore the diverse resources and welcoming spaces of nearly 200 participating public libraries across central and southern Illinois.

Participants are encouraged to pick up an official passport—a booklet featuring all participating libraries—and collect stamps at each stop.

The official crawl passport can be printed at home or picked up at any participating library. Each passport includes a QR code for a Google map plotting every stop. There’s also a restaurant and sights guide linked from the passport and available online, which highlights recommended spots to eat and local attractions in every library community.

All patrons who collect at least five stamps—signifying five different library visits—have completed the crawl. Those who return completed passports to your home library by 6PM on October 31.
