Vallee and Burnett leads St. Joseph over Urbana

Payton Vallee and Kennedi Burnett teamed up for 16 kills on Monday (April 5) as St. Joseph-Ogden upended Urbana in a non-conference volleyball match, 25-16, 25-20.
Vallee landed nine kills to go with seven digs. Burnett totaled seven kills, 12 digs and four service aces.
Becca Steinbach doled out 22 assists.
Vallee’s double-double (10 kills and 10 digs) powered the Spartans to their ninth two-set sweep of the season on Tuesday (April 6), a 25-18, 25-19 triumph at Tolono Unity.
Burnett registered 10 digs, eight kills and three aces.
Steinbach amassed 20 assists and Hannah Fox had eight digs.
On Wednesday (April 7), the Spartans raised their winning streak to four with a sweep at home over Rantoul, 25-11, 25-21.
Vallee landed nine kills and two aces. Burnett totaled six kills, seven digs and two aces.
Steinbach wound up with 21 assists. Fox had nine digs and Emily Fisher contributed six digs. Ashley Eldridge ended with three blocks.
SJ-O (11-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 8) at home against Pontiac. In Illini Prairie Conference matches, the Spartans are 6-1.
