Conrad Miller and Owen Birt registered pins for St. Joseph-Ogden on Thursday (April 29), which opened the wrestling season with a 27-18 triumph at Hoopeston Area.
Birt’s 29-second fall at 195 pounds was the meet’s quickest.
Other Spartans with wins were Dakota Pinaire (126 pounds), Lincoln Eastin (220) and A.J. Wells (285).
Also on Thursday, the Spartans topped Warrensburg-Latham 24-15. Birt posted a second-period pin.
Teammates who picked up forfeit wins were Pinaire, Eastin and Wells.
SJ-O (2-0) returns to action on Tuesday (May 4) at Oakwood.
