Immke leads Spartans in win over Tolono Unity

For the second time in three games, Shayne Immke pounded the first pitch of the game for a home run over the right-center field fence to start an 11-9 SJ-O softball win at previously unbeaten Tolono Unity on Monday (May 17).
Immke, who collected four hits, later socked a grand slam. Immke had five RBI.
Kaylee Ward had two hits, including a home run, her fifth of the season. Maggie Ward earned the pitching win in relief of Sophia Martlage.
On Wednesday (May 19), the Spartans pounded five home runs as they battered visiting Mount Zion 13-3.
For the second game in a row, Immke socked two home runs and registered four hits.
Also knocking home runs were Alyssa Acton, Kennedy Hudson and Addy Martinie. They all collected at least two hits as did Kelsey Martlage.
Immke raised her team-leading home run total to 10. Wednesday’s game was her third multiple home run game of the spring. Acton has six home runs, Martinie has five and Hudson has two homers.
Maggie Ward (9-2) and Acton combined to pitch a four-hitter.
SJ-O (19-5) returns to action on Thursday (May 20) at home against Pontiac.
