Sophomore Owen Birt won both of his matches on Tuesday (June 1) with first-period pins for St. Joseph-Ogden, which lost two wrestling dual meets at Chillicothe IVC.
The host school dropped the Spartans 30-12 and Monticello captured a 66-6 win over the Spartans.
Birt’s pins were in 1 minute, 47 seconds and 1 minute, 39 seconds.
For the season, the 195-pound Birt has an 11-4 record with five first-period falls.
The other SJ-O points against IVC came on a fast fall (70 seconds) by 220-pound sophomore Kyle Meccoli.
SJ-O (6-9) returns to action on Friday (June 4) at home against Clinton and Toledo Cumberland.
