Villa Grove competes at Spartan Classic

Three Villa Grove runners participated in the boys seventh-and eighth-grade Spartan Classic cross-country meet on Friday (Sept. 24).

Leading the way for the team was Bailey Keith. He finished 50^th with a 2-mile time of 16 minutes, 25.1 seconds.

Trailing him were teammates Cole Cardiff (59^th in 17:04.2) and Oliver Oberg (65^th in 19:28.0).

In a race for fifth- and sixth-graders, Villa Grove’s Nolan Shadwick ended in 11^th place, with a time of 14:13.6.

Other teammates who competed were Ethan Vail (24^th in 16:55.8), Miles Swigart (25^th in 17:04.8), Robert Mitsdarfer (27^th in 17:12.9), Max Kneer (28^th in 17:13.4), Thomas Linstead (46^th in 24:10.5) and Wyatt Kamerer (47^th in 24:23.1).

Villa Grove Junior High Girls’ Cross-Country

Two Villa Grove runners ran in the girls’ junior high Spartan Classic cross-country meet on Friday (Sept. 24) in St. Joseph.

In the race for seventh- and eighth-graders, Lilly-Lynn Davis was 40^th with a 2-mile time of 17 minutes, 44.6 seconds.

In the race for fifth- and sixth-grader, Teaghan Henderson was 41^st with a time of 20:08.8.
