Jones places in two Invitationals

Heritage’s Kiara Jones placed fourth on Saturday (Oct 2) in the 143-runner Monticello Invitational at Lodge Park.
Her 2-mile time was 12 minutes, 52.8 seconds.
On Tuesday (Oct. 4), Jones ran a season-best time of 12:29 and was second in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
Heritage will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 9) in an IESA Class 1A sectional meet at St. Thomas More.
Heritage Junior High Boys’ Cross-Country
Heritage didn’t have enough runners to be scored as a team on Saturday (Oct. 2) in the 19-school Monticello boys’ cross-country invitational at Lodge Park.
The Hawks’ participants in a field with 162 competitors were: Clark Roland (36th in 12:43.8), Christian Paul (57th in 13:16.3), Eli Denmark-Collins (105th in 14:35.0) and Clayton Thomas (108th in 14:44.9).
On Tuesday (Oct. 4), Roland ran seventh (12:22) in the seventh- and eighth-grade division of the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
In the fifth- and sixth-grade race, Paul was third (13:00).
Heritage will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 9) in an IESA Class 1A sectional meet at St. Thomas More.
