After opening the season with three losses on consecutive days, the Villa Grove boys’ basketball team won twice on Friday (Nov. 26) at the Tri-County Tournament.
Robert Fancher provided the offensive spark in wins over Judah Christian, 67-58, and Chrisman, 58-52.
The junior guard made 13 three-pointers for the day and totaled 47 points for the two games.
Fancher scored a team-high 23 against Judah. Parker Stevens seconded him with 16 points. Layne Rund added 14 points.
The Blue Devils jumped into a 23-8 lead after one quarter against Judah.
Against Chrisman, Fancher tallied 24 points, Rund had 12 and Peyton Smith recorded eight points.
Villa Grove (2-3) returns to action on Tuesday (Nov. 30) at Tuscola.
