Spartans fall to Mahomet-Seymour
By Fred Kroner
St. Joseph-Ogden scored more fourth-quarter points on Monday (Dec. 6) than it had in the first three quarters combined, but fell short at Mahomet-Seymour, 58-46.
SJ-O trailed 45-18 after three quarters, but notched six final-quarter three-pointers as part of a 28-point scoring spree to cut into the deficit it faced against the unbeaten Bulldogs.
Peyton Jones led the Spartans with 19 points. She erupted for 13 fourth-quarter points, including three three-pointers.
Payton Jacob and Ashlyn Lannert each contributed eight points.
SJ-O (6-2) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 9) at home against Teutopolis.
