Rupp hits career-high 22 in Vermilion County Conference game

Karsen Rupp scored a career-high 22 points on Thursday (Jan. 13) at Georgetown-Ridge Farm, sparking Oakwood to a 65-30 Vermilion Valley Conference girls’ basketball victory.
Rupp and Addie Wright each netted six first-quarter points, helping the Comets into a 20-6 lead after eight minutes.
Ashlynn Pinnick tallied 12 points and Wright totaled 10. Jaydah Arrowsmith finished with eight points and Kalie Tison added seven points.
On Saturday (Jan. 15), the Comets opened play in the Vermilion County Tournament at Danville’s Palmer Arena with a rematch against G-RF and jumped into a 25-2 first-quarter lead on the way to a 60-23 triumph.
Pinnick nailed a game-high 15 points. Arrowsmith contributed 14 points, Wright had 12 points and Rupp chipped in with nine points.
Oakwood (10-13 overall) is 5-2 in the VVC and returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 19) in the Vermilion County Tournament at Danville’s Palmer Arena. The Comets, who have a five-game winning streak, will play Salt Fork in the 6:30 p.m. game.
