Heritage loses in IESA semifinals

The Heritage seventh-grade volleyball team opened IESA Class 1A regional play at Chrisman on Monday (Feb. 28) by staging a comeback to beat sixth-seeded Champaign Next Generation, 12-25, 25-13, 25-16.
McKenna Roedl registered five kills and five aces while Jayden Schrock landed six aces to go with one kill. Teammate Addi Hopper contributed four aces and one dig.
Third-seeded Heritage lost in the semifinals on Tuesday (March 1) to the host school. Second-seeded Chrisman posted a 25-16, 21-25, 25-20 triumph.
Heritage concluded its regular season at home on Wednesday (Feb. 23) with a loss to Bismarck-Henning, 25-12, 25-27, 25-13.
Heritage ends its season with a 7-10 overall record.
The fourth-seeded Heritage eighth-graders (4-14) play their postseason opener on Saturday (March 5) at Chrisman against fifth-seeded Philo St. Thomas.
