Bloomington Central Catholic defeats St. Joseph-Ogden baseball
By Fred Kroner
St. Joseph-Ogden put up 10 second-inning runs on Monday (April 4), but that outburst only created a 10-10 tie in a baseball game the Spartans lost at home to Bloomington Central Catholic, 14-10.
Griffin Roesch and Charles Voorhees each swatted two hits for SJ-O. Voorhees had three RBI and Coby Miller finished with two.
Andrew Beyers scored twice in the second inning.
Roesch, the third of four SJ-O pitchers, suffered the loss. He worked 3 2/3 innings and struck out three.
SJ-O is 8-2 overall and 1-1 in Illini Prairie Conference contests. The Spartans return to action on Thursday (April 7) at Rantoul.
