Comets finish third at Paxton

Allie Morris earned a first-place and a second-place finish for the Oakwood girls’ track and field team on Tuesday (April 5) in a nine-school meet at Paxton.
Morris won the 3,200 meters and was the runner-up in the 1,600 meters, helping the Comets to a third-place finish as a team.
Aubrie Elliott (800 meters) and Nikita Taylor (long jump) added second-place finishes as did the Oakwood 1,600-meter relay.
Capturing third place were Quinn Sperry (discus) and Yelka Layden (300-meter hurdles).
Oakwood returns to action on Thursday (April 7) in the Salt Fork Invitational.
