Villa Grove softball picks up conference win

Villa Grove won its second consecutive Lincoln Prairie Conference softball game on Monday (April 11), topping Tri-County 6-2 at home.
Alex Brown pitched a seven-inning compete game, walking no one and striking out seven while collecting her fifth victory.
Maci Clodfelder cracked three hits, two of which were doubles, and drove in three runs. Ending with two hits apiece were Alison Pangburn and Chloe Reardon.
Reardon scored two runs and collected two RBI. Pangburn tallied three runs and stole two bases.
On Tuesday (April 12), the Blue Devils dropped an 8-7 decision at Centennial when the Chargers scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Villa Grove’s Emma Bratten-Noice had a monster game with four hits, including two doubles and one home run, and five RBI.
Brown drove three hits and contributed three runs scored and two RBI. She also pitched 7 2/3 innings and struck out four.
Villa Grove (8-9) returns to action on Friday (April 15) at Blue Ridge.
