SJO Baseball defeats Reed Custer and Tri-Valley

A combined no-hitter highlighted two baseball wins by St. Joseph-Ogden on Saturday (May 9).
Hayden Brazelton pitched six innings and Tyler Altenbaumer one inning in the Spartans’ 4-0 win over Reed Custer.
Brazelton (6-0) fanned 13 batters and walked two. Altenbaumer struck out one hitter.
Adam Price was 3-for-3 against Reed Custer, including a solo home run. Brazelton was 2-for-3.
Coby Miller drove in two runs. Altenbaumer had the team’s other RBI.
SJ-O overpowered Tri-Valley, 11-1, in their other Saturday game. Connor Hale (3-0) fired a five-inning two-hitter. He struck out two and walked one.
Price, Andrew Beyers and Charles Voorhees recorded two hits apiece. Voorhees knocked in three runs. Brazelton tallied three runs and swiped two bases.
Altenbaumer and Luke Landrus each scored two runs.
SJ-O (26-2) has registered 18 wins in a row. The Spartans return to action on Monday (May 9) at home against Danville.
The Spartans have secured 20-win seasons all 10 years that Josh Haley has been the head coach and have averaged 28.3 wins during his tenure.
