Ruwe finishes as runner-up at Lincoln Prairie Conference meet

Heritage’s Zach Ruwe had a second-place finish individually and anchored a relay that was the runner-up on Monday (May 9) in the Lincoln Prairie Conference boys’ track and field meet at Cerro Gordo.
Ruwe took second in the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 35 seconds.
He joined forces with Rowan Denmark-Collins, Cohen Sands and Aiden Ashbrook for the runner-up slot in the 3,200-meter relay (9:40.06).
Ruwe also added a seventh-place ending in the 400 meters (58.59 seconds).
Denmark-Collins produced fifth-place finishes in three events: the 800 meters (2:15.80), the 1,600 meters (5:30.84) and the 3,200 meters (12:26.69).
Hunter Montgomery and Konner Pearman also had two top-10 finishes apiece.
Montgomery was sixth in the 3,200 meters (12:39.56) and in the 1,600 meters (5:55.38).
Pearman was sixth in the 200 meters (24.49 seconds) and 10th in the 100 meters (12.31 seconds).
Ashbrook was 10th in the 400 meters (1:01.07).
Heritage ended ninth in the 11-team field with 24 points. Team honors were captured by Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond with 117 points.
Heritage will return to action in the Tuscola Class 1A Sectional on Wednesday (May 18).
