Mustangs on 10-game win streak

Prairieview Ogden extended its baseball winning streak to 10 games on Tuesday (Aug. 30), securing a 6-2 win at Oakwood.
The Mustangs had key contributions from players in the lower portion of the lineup.
Casen Goff drove in two runs and Royce Loschen reached base on three of his four plate appearances.
Jameson Ehler got PVO on the board in the top of the first inning, delivering a two-run single. Ehler had two hits and winning pitcher Kaden Wedig scored two runs.
Wedig worked four innings, allowing three hits, walking four and striking out seven. Lane McKinney finished up on the mound with three hitless innings. He walked two and fanned four batters.
The pitchers were backed by a defense which was flawless in the field.
On Monday (Aug. 29), the Mustangs beat Rantoul St. Malachy and the rain in a 14-0 four-inning triumph at home.
Ehler tossed a complete-game three-hitter. He walked no one and fanned eight batters. He was supported by an errorless defense.
It was PVO’s fifth shutout win of the season.
Wedig was the offensive catalyst, slashing a single, double and triple to go with a stolen base. Wedig had four RBI and scored two runs.
McKinney was also 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Dalton York and Aiden Hundley both wound up with two hits and two runs scored.
Goff scored twice and swiped two bases.
On Thursday (Aug. 25), York pounded three hits and Ehler collected two hits, leading Prairieview Ogden to a 9-5 baseball win at home over Westville.
The game was stopped after 4 ½ innings following two weather-related delays.
York scored three runs and knocked in two. Goff tallied two runs.
Starting pitcher McKinney worked three innings and struck out four. Reliever Ehler notched the win, fanning three in two innings.
PVO (10-2) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 1), at home against Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
