Strong defensive play carried Heritage past Oakwood on Tuesday (Aug. 30) in a non-conference volleyball match in Broadlands.
Lilli Montgomery had 15 digs and Gracie Tate contributed 12 digs as the Hawks topped the Comets, 25-19, 25-18.
Tate also served three aces.
Bryn Wyant led the offensive attack with seven kills. Adena Paul recorded four kills. Mary Roland ended with three service aces.
On Wednesday (Aug. 31), the Hawks suffered a 25-14, 25-23 setback at Fisher.
Heritage (2-3) returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 3) at the Altamont Tournament.
