Panther boys’ cross country finishes sixth at Champaign County meet

The St. Joseph Panthers finished sixth on Tuesday (Sept. 27) in the 13-school Champaign County junior high cross-country meet at Tolono Unity.
Mahomet-Seymour captured team honors with a composite of 30 points. Champaign St. Matthew (105 points) was second. St. Joseph’s score was 136 points.
Leading the Panthers were Colin Burnett (12th in 12 minutes, 3.5 seconds) and Patrick Clark (16th in 12:07.7).
Rounding out the team’s top seven were Sam Zadeh (38th in 12:57.9), Zach Benoit (39th in 12:59.5), Eli Franklin (41st in 13:02.9), Adam Bello (44th in 13:07.5) and Camden Fisher (48th 13:14.5).
There were 90 participants in the boys’ varsity race.
In the boys’ open race, St. Joseph was also sixth with 154 points. The top two teams were M-S (15) and Urbana (70).
The Panthers’ top runners were Brady Johnson (25th in 14:15.5), Kelton Pruemer (27th in 14:19.4), Nathan Hinkel (32nd in 14:38.8), Holden Hausle (34th in 14:46.8), Henry McCamon (36th in 14:50.2), Kru McDonald (39th in 15:01.0) and Luke Dunn (41st in 15:04.1).
There were 156 runners in the boys’ open race.
