SJ-O soccer records fifth shutout of 2022 season

Four players scored goals on Monday (Sept. 26) as St. Joseph-Ogden recorded its fifth shutout of the soccer season, a 4-0 conquest of visiting Judah Christian.

The Spartans led, 3-0, at halftime thanks to goals from Alex Accosta, Aiden Cromwell and Collin Thomey.

The lone second-half score was by Logan Mills, assisted by Will Childers.

Ryker Lockhart had the other SJ-O assist.

Jacek Slowikowski and Carter Mabry shared the goalkeeping duties. Each finished with two saves.

On Tuesday (Sept. 27), SJ-O was shut out at home, 3-0, by Bloomington Central Catholic. Hunter Ketchum and Slowikowski each garnered three saves.

On Wednesday (Sept. 28), the Spartans handed visiting Iroquois West a 4-2 setback.

Thomey contributed a goal and an assist.

Mills, Jackson Greer and Garrett Siems netted the team’s other tallies.

Will Besson and Childers marked up assists.

Slowikowski had two saves and Mabry collected one save.

The Spartans (11-4-1) return to action on Thursday (Sept. 29) at Rantoul.
