St. Joseph Cross Country finishes regular season at Monticello Invitational

St. Joseph’s middle school girls’ cross-country team placed sixth on Saturday (Oct. 1) in the varsity division of the Monticello Invitational at Lodge Park.

The Panthers’ leaders in the 2-mile race were Ava Overstreet (21st in 13:31.4), Averie Dietiker (24th in 13:39.6), Tessa Walker (27th in 13:41.4), Mia Miller (30th in 13:50.9), Ava Gallo (47th in 14:11.3), Faith Jackson (50th in 14:14.9) and Hadley McDonald (66th in 14:40.4).

The school’s top six runners finished within 43.5 seconds of one another.

There were 134 runners in the race.

In the girls’ open division, St. Joseph captured fifth place.

The team’s top runners were Tabby Brown (fifth in 13:56.6), Kennedi Dean (22nd in 14:49.3), Marissa Smith (38th in 15:38.8), Ellie Miller (54th in 15:54.4), Claire Dirksmeyer (56th in 15:55.1), Leah Stephenson (58th in 15:56.6) and Kinsley Oleynichak (61st in 16:02.3).

There were 198 runners in the race.

In the boys’ varsity division of the Monticello Invitational, St. Joseph took 13th place.

Setting the pace for the Panthers in the 2-mile race were Colin Burnett (26th in 12:24.8), Patrick Clark (37th in 12:38.6), Sam Zadeh (75th in 13:17.9), Zach Benoit (90th in 13:34.7), Brady Johnson (95th in 13:44.5) and Camden Fisher (99th in 13:49.3).

There were 158 participants in the race.

In the boys’ open race, St. Joseph came in ninth.

The team leaders were Henry McCamon (48th in 14:23.6), Kelton Pruemer (58th in 14:40.8), Nathan Hinkel (70th in 14:49.4), Kru McDonald (76th in 15:04.6), Holden Hausle (80th in 15:15.2), Eli Bronowski (99th in 15:40.0) and Luke Dunn (118th in 16:21.3).

St. Joseph will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 8) when it hosts a 17-school Class 2A IESA sectional meet.
